The greatest factor to determine spa energy consumption is how well a spa can retain the heat it creates. Villeroy & Boch Spas are built with 100% closed-cell, full-foam insulation to maximize protection against heat loss. Other high-end spas may boast this feature, but a Villeroy & Boch Spa recycles much of the heat that would be lost in a conventional spa. In a conventional spa, water is heated and travels to the spa via a long series of pipes. Along its journey, hot water loses heat, which escapes under the spa and is wasted - even in full-foam spas.

Villeroy & Boch Spas are different. Up to 90% of the plumbing is on the JetPak, submerged in the hot water. Any heat escaping through the pipe is transferred into the spa water, heating the spa and recycling energy. Villeroy & Boch Spas also recycle energy by using warm air from the equipment compartment to heat the water in the spa, rather than using cold air outside the spa as is the case with many other spas. These unique energy-saving features will keep monthly power bills surprisingly low!
